The Director – Digital Creative and User Design for NewDay USA will report to the Chief Digital Officer and will define the digital creative direction and user experience for our owned and operated digital assets including web, mobile e-mail and social media. This role will deliver digital creative experiences that delight our consumers and improve the performance of our digital marketing. The ideal candidate has extensive experience creating human-centered experiences on all digital channels.  Leading Digital creative design, this role also helps develop digital campaigns including digital advertising, banner ads and creative assets.

This will be an individual contributor role working with the digital agency and internal marketing team with an opportunity to build a team of 2-3 people

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the digital creative strategy and execution plan for all digital channels.
  • Manage and design front-end website pages, landing pages, e-mail templates, banner ads, social media ads for all digital assets for NewDay USA and other affiliated sites. Design to include multi-page layouts, landing pages, banner ads, retargeting ads and other web-based graphics.
  • Translate the creative for direct mail into actionable digital assets
  • Familiarity with IAB banner ad specs, search engines specs and dynamic display media
  • Conceptualize original website design ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex roadblocks
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas and how it ties to the back end/functionality of a website
  • Design new design features and functionally for the website that is responsive
  • Build wireframes and iterative/interactive click-through prototypes
  • Design across various platforms and ensure designs are responsive in nature (web, mobile, social)
  • Deliver polished comps and assets to other team members and UX developer for development and implementation, help define our UI vision and style guides
  • Collaborate with the marketing team and the UX developer to ensure that the designs can be implemented in the existing Content Management System
  • Create design guidelines for the design architecture and ensure interface consistency across the platform

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • 7- 10 years of post-secondary education in Fine Arts, Web Design, or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Web Design preferred
  • At least 7 years’ experience in web design, designing user flows, wireframes, and visuals. Prototyping experience needed.in web design; related experience in a digital agency or digital group preferred
  • Web-work portfolio including examples of HTML, CSS, DHTML and consumer design work required
  • Deep creative leadership & design management experience
  • Proven ability to lead design in an agency environment working on multiple projects and clients or across multiple departments.
  • Expertise in user-centered design principles and responsive design
  • Expert skills in ideation, wire framing, user flows and information architecture

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Proficient understanding of concept development, layout composition, color theory, typography, site functionality, interaction, user interfaces, navigation, and basic drawing skills
  • Master of Adobe CC, Sketch, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch, JIRA, Confluence, Invision and prototyping (Principle, etc.)
  • Technical understanding (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.) and ability to effectively communicate with engineers and marketing managers
  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new skills, technologies and applications
  • Knowledge of social media sites such as blogs, Facebook, twitter & LinkedIn a plus
  • Knowledge of web site design, HTML, SEO and Google Analytics a plus
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Proficient knowledge of HTML, DHTML and CSS, working knowledge of .NET framework, JavaScript/jQuery
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash
  • Have an impressive portfolio that showcases your UX and visual design skills.
